Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Chana Masala Biryani:

  1. For Chana masala
  2. 1/2 Tsp Cumin seeds
  3. 1 Bay leaf
  4. 2 inch cinnamon stick
  5. 1 Chopped Onion
  6. 1/4 cup Curd
  7. 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  8. 2 tbsp Ghee
  9. 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  10. 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  11. 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  12. 1/2 Tsp Salt (as required)
  13. 4 tbsp Chana Masala
  14. 1/4 Cup Boiled Potato (Chopped)
  15. 1 Cup Boiled Chana
  16. For Rice
  17. 1 Bay leaf
  18. 2 inch Cinnamon
  19. 1 Black Cardamom
  20. 2 Green Cardamom
  21. 1 Mace
  22. 3 Cloves
  23. 7-8 Black Peppercorns
  24. 1 tsp Salt or as required
  25. 1 Cup Basmati Rice (soak for at least minimum 30 mins)
  26. 3 Cup Water
  27. 1 tbsp Ghee
  28. For Saffron milk
  29. 1 tbsp Ghee
  30. 1 cup Milk
  31. 1 pinch Saffron
  32. 1/4 tsp Kewra essence
  33. as required Few Mint
  34. As needed- Few Fried Onion

Instructions to make to make Chana Masala Biryani

  1. Heat Ghee in a deep pan Add chopped onion and fry them until onion turn golden brown.
    Remove out from Ghee.
  2. Add Ghee in a pan
    Add Bay leaf, Cinnamon and Cumin seeds
  3. Then add the chopped onion and fry well until the onion leaves the ghee.
  4. Add Garlic Ginger paste and fry well until it leaves the ghee.
  5. Add Salt, Red chili powder, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder and Saute well.
  6. Add grated tomatoes mix well for 2 minutes.
  7. Add Curd in it. Mix them.
  8. Add Potato and stir well.
  9. Add chana masala until it leave the ghee.
  10. Add boiled chana mix well.
    Chana masala is ready.
  11. For Rice
    Soak basmati rice for about 30 minutes.
    Heat 1 tbsp Ghee in a vasel add Bay leaf, Cloves, Mace, Cinnamon, Pepper.
  12. Add enough Water and Salt and boil it add soaked rice and cooked until 90%
    Drain cooked rice and keep aside.
  13. Now take a clay pot and grease it with ghee. Spread lil cooked rice.
  14. Now add chana masala and sprinkle fried onions (brishta), Mint leaves Then spread cooked rice pure 2 tbsp saffron milk over give it a quick mix.
  15. Repeat same process Do this process 2 to 3 times.
  16. Now seal the vessel immediately
    with foil paper keep it on dum for about 30 to 45 mins.
  17. Serve hot chana masala biryani with Lauki Raita
