  8. 1 tsp Cumin Seeds

  13. 2 Black Cardamoms
  14. 2 Green Cardamoms
  15. 2 Bay Leaves

  18. 7-8 Saffron Strands
  19. 1/4 th Cup Warm Milk
  20. 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  21. 1 tbsp Coriander Powder

  25. 1 tbsp Ghee

  1. Wash the chicken pieces & place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a mixer jar, add the green chillies, a very tiny nutmeg piece, ginger & garlic, blend to make a smooth paste, adding a little water if required.

  7. Add the marinated chicken pieces, add 2 slit green chillies, mix well.
  8. Saute on high heat for a few mins the chicken starts to turn dry. Now cover & cook on low medium heat for 15 -20 mins or until soft. Then saute uncovered until the chicken masala leaves the sides of the pan.
  9. Add the drained rice, mix & cook for 2 mins.
  10. Add the reserved water leftover from soaking, mix well & allow to come to a boil
  11. Cover & cook on slow heat for about 7 mins till almost done. Pour the soaked saffron milk over the rice Cover & cook for 2-3 mins
  12. Garnish with chopped coriander & serve hot with raita & chutney.
