- 3 Tbsp besan/gram flour
- 1/2 Tbsp curd
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 Tbsp oil
- to taste Salt
- For Pulao
- 1 cup rice
- 1 medium size onion chopped finely
- 2 Tbsp ginger-garlic-green chillies paste
- Pinch asafoetida
- 1-2 cardamoms
- 1-2 cloves
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- as needed Ghee / Oil
- to taste Salt
- for Garnishing
- as needed oranges
- 3 tsp corinader leaves
Instructions to make to make Gathe Pulao
- For Gathe - In a bowl add Besan. Add all ingredients under Gathe. Add very little water to make a tight dough



- Make lemon size balls cylindrical in shape. Cut into halves


- Boil in a bowl water and add the Gathe’s. Boil for 2-3 mins

- In a wok heat oil and deep fry the Gathe’s. Set aside

- For Pulao - Boil rice. Cook 90%, drain and set aside.


- In a wok heat ghee / oil and add cardamoms, cumin seeds, cloves, hing and stir for 30 seconds.

- Add chopped onions, rice, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, rice and Gathe’s. Mix very well



- Add garam masala powder and salt. Mix, sprinkle little water and lime juice and chopped coriander leaves. Set aside

- Garnish with oranges and enjoy hot with Mint Raita
