  1. 1 cup Rice
  2. 1/2 cup Chana Dal (Split chickpeas)
  3. 1/2 cup Tuvar dal ( plit pigeon peas)
  4. 1/2 cup Urad dal ( Black gram )
  5. 2 cup Curd
  6. 4-6 Green Chillies
  7. 2" Ginger
  8. 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  9. 2 cup Bottle Gourd
  10. to taste Salt
  11. 1 teaspoon Red chilii powder
  12. 1 tsp Sugar
  13. 2 tablespoons Green Coriander
  14. For tempering
  15. 3-4 tablespoon Oil
  16. 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  17. 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  18. 6-8 teaspoon Sesame
  19. 2-4 pinch Asafetida
  20. 10-12 Curry Leaves

Instructions to make to make Handvo

  1. Wash and soak rice and lentils in water for 5-6 hours
    Remove excess water.., Grind rice pl. don't make smooth batter...... mix with curd add salt keep thick batter
    cover the bowl and keep it in a hot place for 6--8 hours
  2. Batter is ready.....now u cam make Handvo
    add grated Bottle Gourd -,Ginger chilli paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder,sugar...and little salt..if need...
    mix all well.
  3. Heat a big pan....spread 2--3 spoons oil on it..spread nicely on sides also with hand...
    same time.......
    on other Gas..Heat a small pan
  4. ..pour the batter in it.......
  5. Add oil...
    mustard seed,Cumin seeds,Sesame seeds.asafoetida,Curry Leaves.....
    pamper is ready spread it on the Handvo batter
    if u love u can add more Sesame seeds...
    now cover it for 10..15 minutes
  6. Now check.......1 side is ready now change the side keep 10 minutes so u can cook both the side......
  7. Now check. with knife if it's ready knife will come out clean
    It's ready to serve..
  8. Let it cool for 5 minutes.......
    cut the pieces as u want,,,,,,,enjoy with sauce or chutney
